A note on the Google Earth Images

Each walk is accompanied by a Google Earth image showing the route as a red line, together with a number of staging points indicated by yellow pins. The GPS coordinates for each pin are recorded above the image, together with a note about the orientation of the image. ´Normal´ means that north is at the top, as is usual. Distances between pins are also recorded next to the coordinates.

The GPS coordinates are recorded as follows: The two numbers next to the heading – either 13/8 or 13/7 - refer to the ´big squares´ on the GPS system covering much of the Algarve. One or two walks cross the boundary between 7 and 8, and this is stated where necessary. The list of numbers below the heading link to the staging points on the image, recording the degrees, minutes and seconds of each location.
